Portraits can be traditional or non-traditional.
They may tell a story or be a "study" of the person.
The choice is up to you.

A TRADITIONAL PORTRAIT:

A traditional portrait is usually a
3/4 view of the face - which shows
as much of the face as possible without
losing the "candid-like" appearance.

A PORTRAIT WITH A STORY:

A portrait can tell a little story for fun or for something that is meaningful to you and your family.  This piece has just been completed.

visit my gallery to view the finished piece.  It's title is: "Not One is Forgotten"

A STUDY PORTRAIT:

This study portrait is sketched,
but it may be finished in a variety
of ways: watercolor, soft pastel, colored
pencil, or even oil on canvas.

PET PORTRAIT:

This would be an example of a posed portrait.
Both subjects are posing for the audience.
