This piece has multiple meanings to me.
I decided to create it after I was recovering from a very difficult illness.  At times, I didn't always know if I was going to make it through.   I was facing the enemy in a battle that I hoped I would win - but as battles go, the end wasn't in sight yet.  It was at that time that a scripture soon found me, and I still hang onto it today.

Luke 12:6-7: "Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.  Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."

The scripture helped me to realize no matter how small or insignificant I felt - God has never left or forgotten about me.  And even how much he cares for a sparrow - I am worth more than flocks of sparrows to him.

In the eyes of the viewer, the sparrow is weak and helpless compared to the bobcat.  The bobcat has a firm foundation.  The sparrow is sitting on a washed out branch that could brake at any moment.  Yet, this little sparrow looks right into the eye of his enemy and is unafraid.  He knows that he is safe because of the One who gave him wings.

So whatever you are facing today, my hope is that you find comfort in this piece.  May the one who made you - give you wings to overcome the enemy
